Could you tell me how to improve my score on verbal detail questions? I find it difficult to have to read the whole passage again to look for the answer.------------
For detail questions, they key here is to use your map to your advantage. If there are 7 paragraphs, figure out which one it's most likely to be in. This may be because you have a word in your map that the question triggers, or it may require some critical thinking. For example, a question that asks a detail from the sustainable agriculture passage from Verbal III about farming systems prior to the 1950s should instantly trigger that you need to go to paragraph 1.
Once you get to the paragraph, use the keywords to help. Most detail questions come from a sentence that is crucial to the paragraph, and usually this means that there's a contrast or conclusion keyword in that sentence. Highlighting these important keywords will make you much more quick and accurate as you're working through the passage.
Also, most detail questions require you to read just one sentence to find your answer. Don't scan the whole passage, since that's just wasting a lot of time then.
